It was not until I went to the county building department to obtain a building permit for a small, simple, and what I assumed (yes, I know what this word means) to be a straight forward project. I was absoulty shocked to find that after more than 25 years in the same home, I had to obtain a variance before I could even apply for my building permit. To make a long story endless (as my good friend Dr. Ralph Nash, would say) I spent almost 4 months, and over $3,000.00 to get a building permit for a Job that will cost about $3,500.00 and would have taken 3 weeks to complete. Due to the delay in obtaining the permit, weather related issues will likely stretch construction out to 10 or 12 weeks. The commissioners reaction was one of; "Gee, it's really nice that you brought all this to our attention now go away and don't bother us anymore". Because of this reception I decided that there needed to be a place and means, for the residents or Clear Creek County to express their concerns, air their gripes and engage in dialog as to proplems facing the "Average Resident and Property Owner".

It is my hope that through the efforts of this web site and resultant public sentiment, that in future elections we can get candidates for our public offices that will follow the "Will Of The People", rather than following their own agendas. Until then, this web site belongs to the citizens and taxpayers of Clear Creek County. Please use it to help us get control of our county back into the hands of responsible citizens and out of the hands of those who want only to serve their own interests while constantly scheaming new ways to get us to pay the bills for their indiscretions and pet projects.
